Information for patients: secure access to endoscopy records
Dr Colin Sherrington is retiring from private gastroenterology practice. As part of this process, some patients are being provided with secure access to a summary of their own endoscopy reports (and biopsy results where samples were taken) from procedures personally performed by Dr Colin Sherrington. This is being done through a text message to your mobile phone which contains a link that you click to arrange download of a summary document.
This information:
- has been provided previously
- contains no new findings
- does not require any action
It is being made available simply as a convenient record, particularly if it may be useful for future care with a gastroenterologist or other doctor.
To protect privacy, access is controlled by:
- a secure, individualised link
- confirmation of date of birth before access is granted
- logging of access for security and auditing purposes
After receiving the link, patients may download the document directly or choose to send a short-lived download link to an email address of their choosing.
Text messages will progressively be sent out from Tuesday 27/02/2026. It will take a few weeks before all text messages have been sent.

We offer a specialised Gastroenterology service for both privately insured and public patients.
Consultations with a Gastroenterologist or bookings directly for an endoscopic procedure (also called open access endoscopy) can be arranged by calling our rooms or through our email enquiry form. A valid referral from your General Practitioner or referring Specialist is required.
All endoscopic procedures are done in a hospital setting, either at St John of God Subiaco or by arrangement at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital or Peel Health Campus.
